The Tenmile Fire District will host an open house for those that are interested in volunteer opportunities with the fire department on Saturday, September 11th to raise awareness about the need for volunteers and answer any questions about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter. The event will take place from 1-4:30 p.m. at the fire station, located at 158 Reston rd.
During that time, members of the Tenmile Fire District will conduct tours, demonstrate firefighter and medical emergency apparatus & equipment, allow visitors to try on firefighter gear and provide informational opportunities throughout the firehouse and grounds. People of all ages are invited to attend and free refreshments will be served. Our academy starts in November and we hope to have some new recruits by that time.
